FOUNDING STATEMENT
SASLUCA was started in the 1980’s as SASIMU in order to professionalize the industry of underwriters, claims assessors, and medical officers. It also aimed to create standards amongst insurance industry players by providing continuous professional development through events, talks, and networking.
Today SASLUCA has over 10 insurance companies participating, with over 100 members. We still keep to our core values from the start and need more members and insurance companies to join in as there has been massive growth in the industry since.
We were comprised of Johannesburg and Cape Town members and during COVID - 19 we hosted virtual events together. As face-to-face events are what we prefer to properly deliver our purpose we usually have separate events in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
